RHSV exhibition - History begins at home

This exhibition attempts to illustrate the history of the area around the RHSV building in A'Beckett Street using materials drawn from the RHSV's own collections.

Topics covered in the exhibition include:
  • Flagstaff Hill & Gardens
  • The Old Treasury Buildings
  • The Queen's Theatre Royal
  • The Old Exhibition Building
  • The Old Government Offices
  • The Queen Victoria Hospital
  • The Queen Victoria Market
  • The Old Melbourne Cemetery
  • The local churches
  • A local industry - Printing
  • A centre of communications
  • Frederick McCubbin - artist of King Street
  • The Noone photographs
  • The Woodbury photographs and of course,
  • the RHSV building

The exhibition is open during office hours - Monday - Friday 10 am - 4 pm.
